As an amateur photographer myself I know I always love new lens shopping. I think I have quite a nice collection of lenses, almost all fast for my Canon 5DSR. Most of these lenses are pretty expensive, but, do we really need to spend a lot of money on a lens to get a good image? Mike Browne explores just this point, do we really need an F1.4 50mm lens at £800 to do landscape photos that we take at F5.6 or higher? IS it the lens or the user that takes the picture?
