Changes to Your Notifications – Everything You Need to Know

We’re making a change to your notifications and we want to let you know in a bit more detail what this changes is, when it is being implemented and why it is being made.

The change

With the launch of the new website in December 2022, we added views into the interactions for which you were notified of. We are now removing these again from your notifications, so you will no longer receive notifications for any views.

The When

This change will take place on Monday 4th September 2023.

The why

There are a couple of reasons for this, one of them is due to user feedback; many users prefer not to receive notifications for views.

The other is that the notifications for views were not consistent with views being made, this was causing confusion and not managing users expectations as well as we would like.

With the above in mind, removing views entirely from our notification list (rather than building in filters to accommodate for all users) is the most sensible solution. This decision takes into account both user feedback and our developer resource, as we have other, larger, projects going on behind the scenes at this time.

The Future

We do understand that users would like the option to filter out certain notifications. Notifications, and how they work for you, is something which we are going to be looking at as a whole section of the website, so this feedback will certainly be taken on board as a part of our future design work.

If you have any questions regarding the above, comment below!

  1. Without the Views notifications, subscribers will not know which images were seen unless they manually and personally keep track of each image’s statistics or the person viewing Likes, Shares or Comments. This modification should wait until you get the Google Analytics working.

    1. Users have always been able to use their ‘uploads’ page to see their image statistics. The view notifications are not working consistently, and thus these are not an accurate way of knowing which images are seen.

      1. I dont know if I even trust this site…I have about 100 views and only .28 pennies in my account. WTF Seems people only care to swipe and like.

          1. I’ve read it a hundred times I know how it works. Now after over 100 views I’m really beautiful photos and following your format I was paid 21 cents yesterday and 21 cents today. Huh please answer me I sent you an email. This is not what you advertised when I signed up. I see lots of people complaining about the same thing. So what people are viewing our photos for less than 5 seconds and it equals 21 cents zero have read my description which would take him over 5 seconds to Read. I find that hard to believe. Not one photo out of my entire library yielded 70 cents. Picked up you bet I am I put a lot of time into my effort.

        1. The real VIEW of the image is if someone looks at it for more than 5 seconds, maybe zoom in a little and so on. I also have a lot of views in three days, but as far as I can tell, only two people actually looked at the pictures.
All the writing just needs to be read. Anyway, I’m glad I found a place for my favorite photos and to share with others.

          1. Hi Christy. It’s not a scam, I’ve been a member for a few years now and I’ve received pay outs. How many views doesn’t matter, it’s how long the views are on one image. If someone looks at your image on its image page for at least 5 seconds or more then that view will count as a paid view and also a regular view. For example, one of my popular images has 4,877 Views but only 2,221 Paid Views, that equals only $5.40 total for that image and it took a long time for that to accumulate. The pay out rate is very small, a fraction of a cent or a fraction of a penny. You won’t get rich with the paid views but it’s better than not making anything when your photos are viewed for 5 seconds or more, right? Currently, the paid click/view is 0.90¢, that’s less than 1 cent or 1 penny. You have to be active on ClickASnap and drive traffic to your ClickASnap photos from social media, your other website or with paid ads in order to make product sales or generate paid views. You have to work at it, you can’t just set up your account and forget about it. You also have to use relevant and effective titles, tags and descriptions on each and every photo. Generally speaking, photos need to be good and interesting in order for people to want to click on them. Hope this helps you and go read through the help files and watch the help videos. https://blog.clickasnap.com/faqs/

      2. I think it’s not good. How can I answer to any comment and to see if someone new is following me, so that i maybe return it ?

        1. We will ensure all members are kept informed as we conduct a comprehensive review of the notification system. Member feedback has played a role in this decision, and we will continue to incorporate it.

      1. We are currently revaluating the notification feature in its entirety to ensure it functions smoothly and to enhance your ClickASnap experience.

    1. Your ‘uploads’ page shows you your total views, paid views, likes, comments and earnings against each image!

    2. You can check out your ‘uploads’ page to see your total views, paid views, earnings, likes and comments for each image! This is the most accurate and up to date way of seeing how many times your image has been viewed!

  2. I am a little confused that you say there were no view notifications pre-migration. I am sure we used to be notified of views.
Surely, removing the notifications for views will quickly reduce the number of views received as users will not know if you have had a look at their profile so may not have a look at yours? This is one of the things we always advise users to do in the FB group when they mention that no-one looks at their images. Engage with the community. If they do not know that someone has ‘engaged’ with your profile then the situation will not improve and you risk losing subscribers due to ‘apparent’ inactivity.
I can certainly see the need to remove the ‘likes’ notifications as the majority of users could not care whether they receive a like or not. We are not Instagram. Removing the ability to like or comment on the feed would certainly go down well.
I may be alone in thinking this, but views and comments in notifications are useful, whereas those for likes are not – even remove the notifications for followers as that will not affect a user.

    1. Views only came in as notifications at the launch of the new website in December 2022. Thank you for your feedback on this matter, we will certainly take it on board when we come to review notifications and how they work for our users!

    2. Steve I agree with you 100%. I like to be notified of my views also. I like to know who liked my shots. To be able to go to their pics as well. I do not like Clickasnap taking away this feature. If users do not like to see the different notifications then they should not go to notifications

    3. I am 100% with you on what you have said Steve,., and would add that what we badly need is notifications of when people reply to our comments and/or replies.

      1. Yes, I agree DAVE THOMSON IT’ Morgan

YES WE DEFINITELY ALWAYS NEED TO WHOM IS MESSAGING US THIER COMMENTS THAT’S MEANS WE ARE GETTING A RESPONSE FROM OUR PHOTOS WHICH WE UPLAODS FOR A REASON HOPEFULLY TO BE SEEN & ENGAGED IN ACTIVITY. WHAT ARE WE REPLACING THE NOTIFICATION WITH IF CLICASNAP TAKE IT OUT WHAT IS SIMILIAR ACTIVITY WOULD REPLACE THIS NOTICED. IT’ S LIKE MESSAGING HOW DO WE SHARE REPLIES TO OUR COMMENTS TO THANK OUR VIEWERS FOR SEEING OUR ART WORK?

***BEST FEATURE I DO ENJOY IS WHEN I HIT SHARE I GET TO COMMENT ON THE HOME FEED … BUT I’M NOT SURE IF THE SHARE PICS WOULD SEE IT WHEN I’M TYPING IT ON MY HOME FEED QUESTIONS CLICK A SNAP? DO YOU KNOW?

THANKS SO MUCH FOR RESPONSE FEEDBACK I’M STILL NAVIGATING THIS FUN SITE AND DEFINITELY ENJOYING CELEBRATING WITH CREATIVITY MINDS OF TALENTS IN THIS CLICKASNAP. SO MANY TALENTS & ARTISTIC PHOTOGRAPHY EVERYBODY PICS ARE SO SPECIAL & HARD WORK TIME EFFORT TRAVEL WAS VERY MUCH NOTED THANKS EVERYONE FOR SHARING YOUR INSPRIED AND MOTIVATIONAL PICS & BEST KEEP MOVING MOTIVATING HUMANS …. IT’S MORGAN 🙂

        1. We’re working on improving notifications as a whole, including comment replies, and these updates will be available soon.

  3. That’s strange, I was ok with getting notifications from views!! At least it should be kept as an option!! Now I’m curious about the changes!! Some contests would be nice, I miss that on Cas!!

    1. We will look at notifications as a whole down the line and make sure that we can get them working right!

  4. How will we know if someone has viewed any of our photos so we can check theirs out? Am I right to assume what you mean is under the current notification button it won’t show red number eg 99 but it will be possible to access notification from the general drop down icon the list of notifications?

    1. Your ‘uploads’ page shows you how many views and paid views you’ve received on an image. We want to encourage users to explore and find images they like, not view other users photos just because they have viewed theirs! We need to make sure notifications for views are working correctly and in a manner which encourages interaction, not limits it! We are also bringing out a ‘clear all’ button for your notifications, so you do not need to click through them individually to clear.

      1. Honestly, I find the feed hard to follow and find images I like. I have engaged much more with the community and found pictures I like through other users viewing my photos and me going to view theirs. This seems like it’s going to cause less engagement, and if I feel like my photos are not viewed and that I’m not in a community, I likely will stop using the platform.

        1. View notifications aren’t working properly at the moment, so we’ve temporarily disabled the feature until it’s resolved.

  5. Is it possible to count the likes instead of views? Or, contabilize wheather we have views OR likes? Sometimes, people like, but don’t ‘visualize’. In my opinion, the objective is the same, but we can’t contabilize the profit…

    Tks

    1. Your ‘uploads’ page shows you your image statistics, so your total views, paid views, likes, comments and earnings!

  6. I’m sad that Views will be removed because I use Views and Comments to find people that I want to credit with Views and Comments on their images.

I don’t really care about likes because sometimes I feel I get spammed with likes from viewers that don’t give any views. Likes are the ones that counts up to 99+ because I don’t open to see all likes because there are too many sometimes (and it doesn’t seem to work setting it up to Never in Notifikation settings).

    1. We will look at notifications as a whole again down the line, as they are not working correctly we are removing them for now!

      1. Views are a significant part of my process to connect and respond to others who have viewed my photos. From what I have been reading other users utilize them in the same way. Removing them kind of puts us in the dark. Regardless of them not functioning the way some might like for them to they are still an important tool for us to interact.

    1. We’re taking a closer look at notifications overall. Likes and shares are still visible, and we’re getting ready to roll out comment replies soon.

  7. Great website! I like having notifications of views, even if they are different than the paid views. It helps me know what interests others and this is far more important to me than the reasons cited to remove this function. Removing notification of views seems like a corporate mentality decision that hurts users ability to see what is working for them with their content. Please continue this notification function to best serve the needs of your users, so that they can develop and post the best content for others. The essence of business is to find and meet the needs of others and you must know exactly what this is,before you can do this. Notifications of views is the best way to see what interests others. You should instead post a disclaimer that “notified views” are not the same as the actual paid views and continue this important views notification function.

    1. We’re facing issues with our notifications at the moment, which is why we’re choosing to take down the feature.

  8. Please leave the views and get rid of the likes… I personally care about who views and comments on my photos… So I can give them the same support… Especially now with so many scamming the system…

    1. We want to encourage users to explore the images across the website and view ones they enjoy, not encourage them to remain limited to viewing only the users photos who view theirs!

  9. Hello. I don’t think this is a great idea, as this is how the community connects. You find new photographers to follow, and you can see comments as well as follow up with people who you have been conversing with. If people don’t want that they can opt out. I think you’re going to lose the community feel of the platform. I hope you reconsider this.

    1. This isn’t working as it should right now, but we will definitely will looking at notifications again as a whole and how they work for our users!

    2. Burada attığın yorumlarım hiçbir zaman görünmüyor ve göremedim maalesef ilk gelen güncellemeden sonra yedi yüze yakın takipçim kayboldu ve paketimi yükseltemiyorum hiç yardımcı olamıyorsunuz Burada attığı mesajlar takipçilerim nereye gitti bilmiyorum

      1. Please contact our support team who will be able to assist you with any account issues you are experiencing.

    3. Thank you for your response. I’ll trust you know what’s best in order to build the highest quality and engaging community. It would be nice if you could get rid of the bots. I find myself navigating around suspicious profiles. Thank you.

      1. If you have a hunch that an account might be in violation of our terms of service, you can report it using the (i) symbol on their uploads.

  10. According to how it works on clickasnap, one earns 0.90cents per view, however, my account earnings have not changed for the last several days yet more people are liking and viewing the photos I upload on your site. Kindly clarify this for me.

    1. Check out our FAQ page for all things Paid Per View. If you have any specific account queries please direct these to our customer support team using the ‘contact us’ links.

  11. I have always liked to see Views in my Notifications. My problem however are the Views that are not for five seconds. If Notifications could be filtered for genuine Views it would be perfect.
Likes are what I would like to see removed from Notifications. What I have experienced are people looking at a Profile and going down the screen ticking the Like button for as many times as they like. I have received as many as 20 Likes in 10-15 seconds. Thank you.

    1. Thank you for your feedback! Filtering out certain notifications is feedback we are going to take on board when we work on this area of the site!

  12. Ever since the migration to the new platrform I have received no, nada, not a single notification of views. I have checked my info and hit the update button even though nothing changed and still nothing.

I would like to start receiving view notifications again.

    Thanks

    1. Views will not generate a notification from Monday 4th September 2023. If you have concerns with notifications regarding your account specifically, you will need to reach out to our customer support team using the ‘contact us’ links!

    2. Right now, view notifications aren’t working as they should. So, we’ve taken them offline temporarily until we can sort out the problems.

  13. We use views to build up connections to other colleagues. When we reciprocate we get to like, follow, and comment on their good work. What does it cost to maintain them? We have never been paid anyway using views.

    1. Notifications for comments and shares are still active and working properly. Additionally, we’re working on bringing back comment reply notifications, which will greatly enhance member communication.

  14. While I understand that the Upload page will provide information on the statistic of each photo, I think that one of the strong advantages of the platform was that the notification page provided insight on who has looked or commented on a photo. This allowed to communicate with eachother and provide words of encurragement and feedback. Taking away the notifications is in my oppinion going to be a disadvantage on the long run, but I currious to see the outcome and happy to be thought otherwise. Nevertheless, thank you for your efforts and hard work and I hope another solution can be found.

    1. we’re currently revisiting the notification system to enhance its functionality overall, comments and shares are still active notifications and we’re bringing comment reply notifications back really soon!

      1. Comment reply notifications will be making a comeback in no time! This improvement will facilitate smoother communication among members, making conversations even easier!

  15. I am fairly new to this site but I have enjoyed it a lot , I am truly sad your removing the views from notifications I love getting them n seeing who has viewed my photos an commented makes me feel good that’s the part I enjoyed about the site . Also like someone else commented they like getting the views an in turn looking on theirs to see new pics they have added .

    1. Currently, there are issues with the functionality of view notifications. As a result, we’ve chosen to temporarily deactivate this feature until the problems are resolved.

  16. This is ridiculous. What a scam. I just finally found you uploads page that clocks the amount of paid views, and I’m being paid for like 2% of the views my photos actually get. You aren’t going to keep good photographers if you treat them like this. I’m out!

    1. Views and paid views are treated separately. Any paid views you receive will be calculated and added to your piggy bank for that specific image.

  17. It is better to leave the notification as an option, the user can select to enable the notification or disable it It can be a mild solution as there are many users including me still prefer to keep the notification enabled… it serves more the purpose of letting the people know each other and exchange experience and share stories from all over the globe.and get the real feedback on the photage we upload.

    1. We are currently assessing the notification feature comprehensively. Since view notifications are not functioning properly, we have temporarily removed them.

  18. When does the paid views start? is there any specific criteria or as soon as an account is created and uploading starts any view will be counted as paid? thank you

  19. I totally agree with the upcoming changes. On the uploads page, we can find views, likes, etc.
About likes, they should be eliminated forever. I realized that it works on a “like-for-like” basis. That’s not professional at all.

  20. Hello im newbie here my first 20 pic uploads was on aug.29, and i have more than 2 viewed and liked some of my pictures, when do i start to earn of of it thank you , and i recently upload again 20 pictures.

  21. personally, I would rather be notified of authentic views rather then all views or likes. Also notifications of follows might also be helpful for some users.

  22. I’m interested in how to earn 0.9 c from views? It’s 0.1 c for me now. If someone can explain to me if I pay 7e for a pro license

  23. I’m interested in how to earn 0.9 c from views? It’s 0.1 c for me now. If someone can explain to me if I pay 7e for a pro license.nan

    1. I am interested in that too as I also paid a PRO account and get 0,01$ for 1 paid view on all of my photos. There is nothing about a decision making in FAQ on how much you will get for a paid view, there’s only the statement that they will decide how much you deserve. I would like to know if ever anyone got more than 0.01$ or as you got 0,1$.

        1. Thank you for explaining, now it makes sense to me. Maybe adding this information about % of 1 cent to your policy of paid views would help also others to better understand how much money they will get. I do not know why I have understood at the 1st time that it’s 90c per 1 paid view. That’s why it was really not understandable for me but now it is. All is clear -> it is 90% of 1 cent and not of $1.

  24. That’s not a great move, without notification it’s hard to find who viewed my photos and I can visit their profile also. From the above user comments it’s clear that most of the users are not happy with the new updates.

    1. In order to improve its functionality, we temporarily deactivated it for now, taking into account the majority of the feedback that led us to this decision.

  25. Hi,
Can’t we add a configuration for the user to show VIEWS in the notification? It will help user who still want to see the views.
Otherwise, we can have separate section to see the views and it will help user who want to see only views.

    1. We’re reviewing and working on improving our notification system. We’ll keep you posted on any changes. Thanks for your patience and feedback.

      1. Hi,
Can’t we add a configuration for the user to show VIEWS in the notification? It will help user who still want to see the views.
Otherwise, we can have separate section to see the views and it will help user who want to see only views.

        1. We’ll keep members informed during our thorough notification system review. Member feedback has influenced our decision and will remain integral to the process.

  26. I’m not going to lie, I do like seeing the notifications of who has viewed my photos. But, I also am not a computer, run a website person. So, I trust that you are trying to do the right thing for this site! I completely enjoy being able to show my photos and have tried to become more selective with what I post, though I am no photographer and am just using my cell phone. Thanks for this site. And for the work it takes to run and improve it!

  27. How will we know who viewed our photos? Is there anyway to change the views in general? It’s hard seeing that you got 100 views and only like 50-60 are authentic or paid. Why add the other views that don’t count?

    1. Go have a look on your ‘uploads’ page, to view the individual image statistics. Here you will be able to see how many total views, likes, comments, paid views and earnings you have for each image.

  28. I don’t think it’s fair that we can’t track the number of views. How can we even know approximately how our photos are viewed?

    1. You can visit your ‘uploads’ page to check the specific statistics for each of your images. There, you can see the total views, likes, comments, paid views, and earnings for each image.
